Frames are selected and are often custom-made to enhance the work of art they present. Historical and custom-made frames are often valuable; it is essential that their aesthetic and structural integrity be maintained. Lost ornamentation and molding is repaired and reconstructed when necessary, finishes are replicated, including gilding.

 

 

Gilding sometimes flakes and loses its original luster over time. Both traditional and modern gilding techniques are utilized in the studio.
